This Harry Potter Fact Will Make You Feel Old

<——– J.K. Rowling tweeted that little bit of news yesterday.

I know, like, Harry Potter doesn’t actually exist and all, but chew on that little bit of news.

His oldest son, James Potter, would be starting at Hogwarts yesterday.

I’m at the point in my life where I deal with these revelations of time everyday. A few months ago, I realized that this year’s high school graduation class wasn’t even alive when I graduated high school. That’s old.

And, now, Harry Potter’s son is off to Hogwarts?

What’s next–Han Solo as an old man? Don’t answer that.

  4. How do you think I feel? I remember seeing the Beatles on black and white tv. Geez, I am old. When people say I am old school, they’re thinking I went to school with Socrates. Well, I did. He flunked philosophy.

  6. It does exist 😉 I’m still freaking out a little bit that it’s going to be 20 years since it was released in less than two years!? I mean this is like really getting old stuff. Pretty soon I’ll have to acknowledge I’m an adult.

Think generational. My grandfather, who died while I was at university, was born in 1865, just before the end of the Civil War. That’s 150 years ago if your math is shaky. Tempus fugit.

  8. I read the first Harry Potter book in 1997/1998 and always thought of them as going through school with me because for a while it seemed like they released a book a year (at least until they linked things up with the film franchise). So my inner Harry Potter timeline is at odds with the one in the book, but yes, this does make me feel old!

  10. I read these books while growing up and they are so close to my heart! I’m sure Harry and Ginny would be proud that their son is in Gryffindor!

I also have a book blog! Please check it out:)
