To Kill A Mockingbird Reimagined

killmockingbird

How have I missed this?

You might know I love To Kill A Mockingbird. It’s a classic. To me, that book is what literature is all about.

Had I read that book in 7th grade, though, my book review would have probably gone something like this.

Videos like this were the reason the internet was created. It’s starts accurate enough, but then things get out of hand.

  1. I liked that book very much and the way Harper Lee described the society. All the best.

What can you say about a video like this? I don’t even know where to begin. Bless their 7th grade selves.

  3. My first reaction is, this HAS to be a joke. Then I remember, it is more likely someone’s best effort.
    Sigh…
A flawless book cheapened by “humor” and ignorance.
    Funny? No/ Laughable? Yes.

    • Oh, it’s definitely a joke. The guy doing the VO sounds like the same guy who did the “honey badger” video that went viral last year.

      • That’s exactly what I thought… and makes me feel only marginally better.

  6. Harper Lee would be rolling over in her grave if she were dead. But she could be laughing, instead. I don’t know. Her generation doesn’t do much Internet surfing, so maybe she can remain blissfully ignorant of this creation. :o)

  7. TKAM remains one of my favourite novels, if not my favourite of all time. I just remember studying it in school and thinking to myself, “This is the first book that I have ever enjoyed studying in my English classes”. Perhaps a reflection of my hate for poetry and an inability to get myself into the other books that we studied, but even so, what a great book.
