Better Book Titles
I’m so late to the party on this that all of the partiers are passed out and on the couch. But, nonetheless, I feel obligated to tell you about this super awesome website I recently discovered.
It’s called Better Book Titles, created by a comedian named Dan Wilbur. Basically, Dan just takes a famous book and gives it a slightly more honest and accurate title. He then throws the new title on the old cover to finish the joke. It’s well done.
And Better Book Titles is actually a great site for people who don’t have time to read a long review and would like a 5-word synopsis of what the book is about. It’s pretty amazing how accurate, and funny, his recreated titles are.
Some examples:
Lolita
The Great Gatsby
The People’s History of the United States
The Very Hungry Caterpillar
As You Like It
My personal favorite of the above–”Likeable Rapists” and “White People Ruin Everything.” Too funny.
There’s so many more examples over at Better Book Titles. The site layout is a little awkward but the content is outstanding when you look through it. Check it out! And I DID NOT get paid for this review…it’s just a great site.

this is genius!
Haha, hilarious!
Wow, what an innovative and interesting idea! Haha I love how apt some of the titles are.
OMG Eat Until You Feel Pretty!?!?!?! LMFAO
I know. We were just reading that too my son the other day. Too funny.

Will have to check this out in more depth.
Very good find
Oh that’s hilarious. I checked out the site and oh my god, there’s some good ones. I love how George Bush’s Decision Points became My Bad – or how Plato’s book about The Life and Trial of Socrates became Athens Kills Its Best Unemployed Wise Ass. Too Funny!
I know…the Bush one, “My Bad,” was one of my faves. Great stuff.
Likeable Rapists’ title scared me a bit.
Amazing! Not sure I would call Humbert Humbert likeable, though… insanely creepy, maybe…
