What Happens When The Bookstore’s Closed?
It’s Monday. You’re a little bummed. Admit it.
So when I saw this video last week, I thought it was a perfect post for a Monday.
If you love books like me, this is sure to make you smile. Imagine what might go on when a bookstore closes and the lights go out. It’s like a literary version of Toy Story!
I’m just glad to know books find a way to get some cardio in. A sedentary lifestyle, sitting on a bookshelf all day, has been known to kill many a book.
Have a great Monday!

Wow!
This must bee a lot of work to film, shot by shot.
I can’t imagine how much time it took. Hurts my head just to think about it.
Very cool! Thanks for sharing.
That was fun and enjoyable.
When I saw the title of the post, I thought it was going to be an “e-books are better than books because you can buy e-books from home” argument. I’m glad it wasn’t.
Oh, you won’t see that argument on this blog. I’m pro-”real book.”
Love The Joy of Books! Thanks for sharing.
That made me grin from ear to ear the entire time. Thanks for sharing!!
There really is nothing like a real book! That made me very happy.
This was filmed in Toronto, Canada at an independent bookstore. They came in to film when the bookstore closed at 6 pm and left when the story opened again at 10 am. It took four nights to film. It’s getting a lot of notice here!
I wrote a poem several years ago that relates to your post about what books do when the library closes at night. I loved this video. It exemplifies what I imagined. I wrote this poem for my students. I hoped to motivate them to read more.
